Kenya & Tanzania Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi Arusha- Lake Manyara (360 km, Appr. 6 hrs with stops)

0730hrs: Pick up from your Nairobi hotel or Nairobi airport

Proceed on the cross border drive into Tanzania.

There shall be a stop for immigration formalities at the Namanga (Kenya / Tanzania) border town.

The scenic drive is via Masai country,distinct climatic zones and social regions.

Lunch shall be at the Arusha town of Tanzania.

Proceed to the Lake Manyara for game viewing in search of the famous tree climbing lions and large flocks of flamingos.

The Lake Manyara national park is small and scenic

Day 2: Lake Manyara- Ngorongoro Crater

We depart Lake Manyara with picnic lunches for the Ngorongoro crater

Later descend (670M) into the floors of the crater in 4 wheel cruisers.

It shall be a full day of unsurpassed game viewing with only a lunch break at Ngoitoktok springs picnic site.

Game volume and variety is left to your imagination.

Later ascend to the crater rim for awesome sunset views.

Day 3: Ngorongoro - Serengeti

Awesome sunrise views from the crater rim

Leave the Ngorongoro after and proceed to the Olduvai Gorge.

Here, we visit various sites of the gorge to see where the remains of pre-historic man were discovered.

Later proceed to the vast Serengeti plains with afternoon game viewing

Day 4: Serengeti Game Reserve

Day spent at the Serengeti on game viewing drives.

Serengeti is large, the variety and concentration of game is mind boggling

This we encounter as we traverse the reserve on rewarding game viewing drives.

Day 5: Serengeti- Masai Mara game reserve( 265 kms: 4-5 hrs)

Depart Serengeti with game viewing en-route.

Proceed to the Masai Mara game reserve via the isebania Tanzania / Kenya border town..

The Mara shares the same ecosystem with the Serengeti game reserve.

Ideally it is the smaller extension of the Serengeti.

It is well located for game viewing drives together with optional activities including balloon safari excursions and guided nature / bird walks

Day 6: Masai Mara game reserve

Today shall be spent at the Masai Mara game reserve on a full day of game viewing drives.

Picnic lunch shall be by the Mara river with views of hippos and crocodiles
Game viewing drives are dictated on by the location and concentration of animals at specific times.
The Mara hosts the highest concentration of wild animals per sq km than any other game reserve in East Africa
Simply stated the Mara is a one stop shop for game viewing activities in Kenya.

Overnight shall be at your Masai Mara safari lodge / tented camp.

Day 7:Masai Mara - Lake Victoria

An exit game viewing drive as you leave the Masai mara.

Drive to the shores of Lake Victoria (largest freshwater lake in Africa)

Spend a restful afternoon on the largest inland lake in the world..

You may opt for guided walks, biking, fishing, canoeing and more (some or all of which may be charged additionally).

Overnight at your Lake Victoria hotel

Day 8: Lake Victoria- lake Nakuru: 200 km: 3.5 Hrs.

Morning by the Lake Victoria.
Proceed to the Lake Nakuru National Park with stops on scenic points along the way.

Afternoon bird and game viewing drives around the Lake Nakuru.

An opportunity to visit the rhino sanctuary.
Overnight at your lake Nakuru safari lodge / tented camp.

What you may see at Lake Nakuru national park .......

Flamingo ,Rhino, Giraffe, Zebra, Lion, Mammals,waterbucks, waterfalls,unique vegetation and prolific birdlife of about 450 species.

Day 9: Lake Nakuru - Amboseli: 410 km. 6 Hrs

A long and easy drive to the Amboseli awaits you today.

A short morning game viewing drive as you exit the park.

Depart Lake Nakuru for the Amboseli.
There shall be stops to view the scenic Rift valley escarpment along the Nakuru Nairobi highway.
Lunch stop at the Carnivore restaurant in Nairobi.
Short game viewing drive with possible views of the Mount Kilimanjaro peaks.(Weather permitting)

Overnight at your Amboseli safari lodge or tented camp.

Leopard,Elephant Buffalo,Giraffe,Zebra, Lion,Plain game, crocodile, Mongoose, Hyrax, Lesser Kudu, prolific birdlife featuring 600 species.

Day 10: Amboseli - Tsavo west: 100 km: 2 Hrs.

Short morning game viewing drive is scheduled at the Amboseli.

Weather permitting, there shall be awesome views of Mount Kilimanjaro's snow capped peaks.

The Amboseli is open and relatively small.

Game viewing drives are concentrated and wildlife easy to spot.

Mount Kilimanjaro provides wonderful back grounds for awesome photography moments.

Later proceed to the Tsavo West National Park.

The Tsavo west is hilly and craggy with scenic terrain

Overnight shall be at your Tsavo west safari lodge or tented camp.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

What you may see / do at Tsavo West national park .......

Rhino,Leopard,Wild dogs,Buffalo Elephant,Giraffe,Zebra, Lion,Mongoose,Hyrax,Lesser Kudu,Mzima springs,underwater hippo and fish watching with prolific birdlife.

Day 11: Tsavo West- Nairobi or Kenya coast beaches.

Game viewing drive at the Tsavo west national park.

You shall have your packed lunch boxes as you head to the Mzima springs where you view hippos, crocodiles, exotic fish and bird life.

Later depart Tsavo west for Nairobi or the Kenya coast.

Drop off at your Nairobi hotel, jomo kenyatta airport or the Mombasa,Diani,Watamu & Malindi beach resorts
