Ngorongoro (Karatu) / Serengeti
Drive towards Ngorongoro (approx 20mins); after registration at the gate, enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and drive for about 30minutes before entering the descending gate of the Crater. Game drives safari in the Crater, exploring the short-grass plains of the crater floor. This extinct volcano embraces 100sq miles alive with lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, buffalo, and many more games. Later in the day we drive to overnight in Serengeti. Lake Manyara (Safari or Cultural tour), Arusha, Kilimanjaro & Departure
Morning game drive safari in Lake Manyara Park. The park is home to colorful birds, elephants, zebras, giraffe, hippos, antelopes and other animals. Alternative (instead of game drive safari in Manyara): After breakfast, we drive to nearby Mto wa Mbu area (4+ miles from Manyara Park’s gate) to do an approximately two hour cultural tour which will include visiting banana or rice plantations as well as a walking safari with traditional healers who will explain the medicinal values of the indigenous plants. We will drive back to Arusha and proceed Airport Planet Lodge where we will stop to freshen up before proceeding to the airport for your evening/night flight back home. Estimated driving time: 2 hrs to Arusha, plus 50 minutes to JRO Activities: Game drives or Cultural Tours
