8-Day Kenya Safari and Beach Trip from Nairobi to Mombasa

You will be met on arrival at Nairobi airport and transferred to your Nairobi hotel for one night. There is a pre-bookable optional excursion (additional charge) of lunch at the ever popular Tamambo Restaurant followed by a visit to the Giraffe Centre home to the endangered Rothschild Giraffe. Dinner and overnight at pre-booked safari lodge or camp.

After breakfast travel to the Masai Mara (4-hour drive). Lunch is followed by an afternoon game drive, with plenty of opportunity to spot the \'Big Five\' and other species in this world-famous game reserve. Your base for the next 2 nights is set in the Oloolaimutia Valley, surrounded by a wealth of wildlife, bird life and natural flora. Overnight: Mara Sopa Lodge. The lodge bar has a viewing deck on the front and at night hyenas and jackals are tempted in to feed on food scraps. (B/L/D)

Both an early morning and an afternoon game drive are on the agenda today - ideal times to spot bush inhabitants in abundance. The surrounding Ngama Hills are one of the best places to spot the Mara\'s 20 or so black rhino, so keep your eyes peeled! Dinner and overnight at pre-booked safari lodge or camp.

Leave the Masai Mara today for the drive to Lake Naivasha (4 hour drive). This beautiful lake, surrounded by the yellow-barked Acacia tree, is world-renowned as a birding destination, so cast your eyes skywards in between spotting giraffe, monkey, hippo and buffalo on its shores. Enjoy lunch followed by a boat trip on the lake (subject to water levels). Dinner and overnight at pre-booked safari lodge or camp.

After a good nights\' sleep, continue to Amboseli National Park, famed for its herd of elephants grazing the swamps there. Stop for lunch en route at Nairobi\'s famous Carnivore Restaurant (1 hour 30-min hour drive). Arrive at Amboseli (4 hour drive) late afternoon, enjoying a short game drive en route. Dinner and overnight at pre-booked safari lodge or camp.

In the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli is famous for its big game and scenic beauty - both of which you\'ll have ample opportunity to enjoy an early morning and afternoon game drives. At night, relax outside by the fire during the warmer months, before tucking into a hearty meal prepared for you by the lodge chefs.Dinner and overnight at pre-booked safari lodge or camp.

Leave Amboseli and drive via Emali towards Tsavo East (5 hour drive). Lunch is followed by an afternoon game drive in Tsavo East to spot the local inhabitants at rest and play, including lion, leopard, cheetah, antelope, hyena and elephant. Afterwards, relax back at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at pre-booked safari lodge or camp.

Depart Tsavo for Mombasa (2 hours 30-min drive) arriving around lunch time (B). From M,ombasa you can either take a flight back home via Nairobi or extend your stay at one of the many beach resorts in Mombasa.
